Last week I photographed three Calgary Flames NHL hockey games for USA TODAY Sports. Here are some of my favourite images in no particular order :)

On Wednesday NHL season started for the Calgary Flames when they played against Vancouver Canucks. I was at the game, photographing it for USA TODAY Sports.

For the first period I went to the ice level. This year we finally got some photo holes in the glass, so it will be much better to shoot from the ice level!

Vancouver scored first and I was pretty happy that it happened on my side of the ring, this way I could get a nice celebration shot :)

After transmitting some images from the first period in the media room I headed up to the concourse level to photograph from a higher position.

By the look of the fans covering their ears, the drum was a bit too loud :)

The game ended with a pretty nice empty net goal by Henrik Sedin.

Here are a few of my favourite photographs that I took covering a golf tournament for St. Mary's University College at Silvertip Resort in Canmore, AB.

After the tournament there was a very nice lobster dinner! :)

So on Thursday I photographed a pre-season game between Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks for USA TODAY Sports. Calgary lost 3-1 and I can't say it was a very exciting game, but I'm sure there are more exciting games to come during the regular season. I'm looking forward to photograph the season opener soon :) Here are my favourite shots from the game.

Earlier today I spent sometime at a golf course, taking photographs of a "Hole in One" contest for Airdrie Life magazine.

On Friday night I photographed the last Flames home hockey game of the season. Hear are a few of my favourites. I'm a little sad that the winter season is over, but looking forward to the summer season :)

I always liked Teemu Selanne and this was the first time I was able to photograph him, so that was pretty nice :)

Earlier I was hired to photograph a basketball tournament at Olds College. Here are a few of my favourite images from the tournament.

I spent three days in Edmonton, where I photographed a couple of NHL Oilers hockey games against Nashville Predators and Buffalo Sabres. Here are some of my images, in no particular order, from both games :)

Its nice in Edmonton, they have nice photo holes in the glass to photograph through... In Calgary there is none :( And as you can see, pretty often ice gets sprayed on the glass and you can't photograph anything from that point on... and I'm not even talking about all the scratches and distortion of the glass.

Having a hole in the glass really helps, but it doesn't guarantee a good image. As in any sport, referees always want to stand in front of the camera... So many times I wanted to poke them and tell them to move :)

I have been photographing many hockey games lately... I guess that is what I get for living in Canada :) Here are some of my favourite photographs from the last four NHL Flames hockey games I photographed.
