This morning I woke up to about 3 cm of fresh snow and I had a couple of engagement photo shoots scheduled for today. It was pretty cold and snowing the whole time in the morning and we just had a short photo shoot with Mark and Mary. They did great and we had fun and ended up with some great images.

My second couple were Alanna and Wess. Lots of fun, lots of energy. The snow stopped by the time we started our photo session and we had a great time in the park. I'm looking forward to their wedding day!

It was a pretty busy weekend for me. Today I had an opportunity to photograph Gloria Vargas in my photo studio. She is an opera singer and she needed a headshot done. She is a very nice woman and it was a pleasure to meet with her and her family.
After the photo shoot I had to run and have a late evening meeting with a very nice couple in Calgary, whose wedding I will be photographing this summer.

This Friday and Saturday Tracy and I were very busy doing a 2008 Bowness Trojans Classic basketball tournament. This is the second year we have done this tournament. It was not the most profitable tournament but I think I ended up with some great shots and I'm sure the kids will love them. The fans at the Bowness high school are great, they are really into the games and were probably the loudest fans I have seen so far. This got me more excited about the games and made me want to take better photos :)
I put together a small slideshow with some photographs from this tournament in my slideshow section, you can take a look by clicking here. Please feel free to contact me if you didn't have a chance to purchase any photographs.

When it is -19.5C inside of your garage you know it's cold out, and they promising -40C for tonight with the windshield! I spent my morning photographing Amanda for her model portfolio. It was very cold outside but we still decided to go for on location photo shoot other than in studio. We ended up with some beautiful photographs.

I had a short photo shoot with a nice family this morning. We had some shots done outside of their house and by the fireplace. Here are a few of my favorites.

This evening I headed to Mount Royal College to cover a couple of volleyball games. Cougars played against Red Deer College and both men and women Cougars teams won.
I purchased a new Canon 1D Mark III not a long time ago and I think I maybe having some problems with autofocus. I have a tournament coming up next weekend and I'm trying to decide if I should use my new camera or use my Canon 1D mark II. Today I used both cameras for these games and tried to compare the results. Mark III did better with colors, was easier to use the bigger LCD screen and I think they both focused equally, so I'm pretty sure I will use Mark III for my upcoming ringette tournament.

An other busy weekend, not with photographs this time but with working on my deck. I did managed to squeeze one photo shoot in. I didn't post any photos of the deck because there wasn't very much of a "visual" progress, maybe next weekend.
