I was in downtown Calgary this morning dropping off a print to be stretched on canvas and to get some photo paper. It was a great weather so I took a couple of photographs of Calgary Tower.

It was a beautiful day today and I'm happy that I spent some time outdoors. I was hired by Bass Pro Shops to photograph their storefront for the new store opening soon in the mall at Balzac. On my way home I also took some wildlife photographs.

Tomorrow we are leaving Sandos Caracol here in Mexico and going home to Calgary. We had a great vacation but I'm excited to go home! Today we spent our day at Xcaret park. If you are on your way to Mexico, I strongly recommend to visit Xcaret! They have a great aquarium and many birds and animals but the greatest part for me was snorkeling!

I was snorkeling for about 3 hours straight and got super tired diving and chasing fish around and trying to take some good photographs with my point and shoot camera with an underwater case. I think I would need to be diving and not snorkeling if I will want to take any decent shots in the future.

In the evening they had a great show! The show pretty much took us though the history of Mexico. Tracy and I already saw this show a couple of years ago but it was great to see it again!

Here you can see a photo of me, taking a walk along the beach as I did every day so far. This evening I took some photographs of pelicans and their life coexisting with tourists and local fishermen.

This morning we woke up early and right after breakfast took a taxi to Playa del Carmen, where we walked around and did some shopping. While we were there we noticed that there are many wireless Internet spots around so I will comeback and upload all this to the Internet tomorrow :)

At Playa del Carmen we boarded a ferry and took a 30 min boat trip to Cozumel, a pretty big Island off the coast of Mexico. There we stopped for lunch and spent the rest of the day walking around and swimming.

Another day in paradice! We spent today at the resort, not really doing anything speciall, just a little exploring here and there. I still wasn't able to get the Internet so I'm just doing updates on my laptop and hoping that I will be able to upload sometime soon.

It is very beautiful here at night so I decided to go around and take some night photographs of the resort with all the nice lights. I don't have my tripod with me but I think it still worked out pretty good.

Today was a nice and relaxing day for us and we spent most of it at the beach. The beach at this resort is not the greatest, it has many rocks so it's not very nice to swim but there is a nice beach 5-10 min walk away from our resort so I think we will go there next time. What you see on the photographs below are not rocks, they are sand bags, placed around our beach. I never saw it before and not 100% sure why they are there, I think it's to stop the waves. It was fun to play on them, trying to climb over them with the waves.

While getting in the water we were attacked by fish. They were swiming everywhere around me and I got bitten. I tried to take a photo but didn't really get anything very nice. I also took some shots of the local wildlife on the way to our hotel room.

For the New Year celebration we had a nice lobster dinner and spent the rest of our evening at the beach, listening to the ocean. Happy New Year everyone!

We are siting in the airport right now. I didn't know this but they have free Internet now in the Calgary airport! This morning I woke up at 4am, put on my shorts, and went to shovel snow. As I mentioned Tracy and I are on our way to spend a week in Mexico. As you can probably see, I grew a mustache, to better fit in with the locals down there :)

After some de-icing we were on our way! I had a window seat so I was able to catch some nice shots of the sunrise and other things that we were flying over. We arrived to the resort in the late afternoon and it was too dark for any pictures so we just had a nice dinner and spent some time in our room reading some information about the resort and I had a chance to update my blog. On an other note, I noticed that locals don't really have mustaches so I will be shaving my mustache off :) Tomorrow we will see what the resort looks like and hopefully I will be able to post some photos. I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
