I lost all my money betting on horses today. Only having $7, it wasn't bad, but I can see how this can be addictive. It was my first time seeing Harness horse races, I must say that I liked Thoroughbred races better. I think in Harness races there isn't as much action going on and its not as fast.

Today I was covering my first baseball game. I don't really know much about baseball so I was learning as the game went on. At the end I was pretty happy with the photographs that I took, and specially for the first time out :) Calgary Vipers played against Winnipeg Goldeyes, Calgary lost 9-2.

This weekend I was pretty busy photographing the Henry Wisewood's Warriors Classic Senior Boys Basketball Tournament. I would say it went very well. I had fun and met some new people. Also, while doing team portraits, I had a chance to test my new portable battery for AlienBees flash unit, it worked great!

This weekend was full of sports photography for me once again. Friday night I photographed Mount Royal Cougars basketball games (men and women). It was an interesting experience, I tried new angles and I think I got some good shots. Cougars won both games, although men's game was close 65-64.

Saturday I went to see a hockey game, SAIT against MRC. Mount Royal took a beating. 3-7 was the final score. I didn't take any good photographs that day but it wasn't a total loss, I met some of the guys from SAIT. They all were from a Journalism program. Overall I had a good time.
Sunday early morning, once again, I went to the Lake Louise. This time it was a women's Super G world cup. I did take skis with me but decided to leave them in my truck and just walk up the mountain without paying for skiing. Well let me tell you, its harder than it looks... it took me a while but I made it up the mountain (not all the way up of course, just to the point where I could take some shots). I only spent couple of hours up there but was very frozen by the time I got back to my car.

Sunday I spent all day at Lake Louise photographing men's Super G world cup, where Svindal Aksel Lund, from Norway got the 1st place. It was my first time ever photographing a skiing event and I had lots of fun, plus learned some new things. You can visit my Sports section for couple more photos from that day.

Last night I went to see the Hockey Hall of Fame Legends game. Russia was playing against Canada. It was an interesting game and I had a chance to take some photos. Although it was a friendly game, fans got really into it and were cheering as loud as they could, wanting their country to win... it was close, but at the end Canada won.
