Here are some of my images from NHL hockey game, Calgary Flames vs Washington Capitals. I usually take some photographs during the warmup from the Calgary bench, this time was no different. When I got there I had my 1Dx with my 400mm f2.8 on a monopod and I leaned it over against the glass to take a few wide-angle shots with my second camera and it fell :( My lens was totally broken so I was stuck to shoot with my 70-200mm. Usually it wouldn't be a problem but Calgary doesn't have photo holes so photographing through the glass could be difficult.

These guys hit hard! I was leaning against the class with my camera as someone was checked into the boards close to me... I was hit very hard with my camera against my nose, I had to check for blood.

I really wanted to get a shot of Alex Ovechkin in some action but nothing really exciting happened with him on my end of the ice. It was still great to get a chance to photograph him :)

Here is a shot I took when I got home of my broken lens and camera :( The lens is bent on the front and totally broke the mount on it. The camera mount worked but it was very hard to change lenses. But for good news I sent it out to Canon for repairs and they already delivered to me a loaner 1DX and a new version of 400mm f2.8 (new version is so much lighter). Hope they can fix my camera and lens :)
