As you know, I'm photographing Alpine Ski World Cup at Lake Louise for USA TODAY Sports. We just finished photographing men's events and I thought I would do a blog post with some of my favourite photographs so far... in no particular order :)

On my way to the ski hill... nice large moon over the mountains :)

I'm covering the finish line area so there is not very much action but I do try to be creative :)

Being this early in the morning in the mountains presents some opportunities for interesting images.

Rescue helicopter is airlifting injured skier from the hill.

I'm not a fan of Chicago Blackhawks but they do have some nice players on the team. Here are a few of my photographs from the NHL hockey game I photographed on Friday for USA TODAY Sports... This turned out to be a great game and I got some nice images :) For the first two periods I was shooting from the ice level through a hole in the glass.

Karri Ramo get sprayed with some ice... he made some great saves in this game.

For the third period I grabbed my big 400mm lens and headed to shoot the game from up high.

Everything was going great until battery in my camera died :( Over the three years shooting NHL hockey I never had problems going through the game on one battery but today was not my day... With the game tied up 1-1 and only two minutes left till the end of the game, I had to run all the way to the media room for a new battery. Luckily I made it back in time and the game ended with a nice overtime goal by Johnny Gaudreau.

Yesterday I drove to Edmonton to photograph an NHL hockey game between Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers for USA TODAY Sports. It was good to finally get a few shots of Connor McDavid.

I'm on my way to Edmonton to photograph Oilers vs Flames game but I thought I would quickly post my top 10 images from last night's NHL hockey game between Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames that I photographed for USA TODAY Sports :)

What is wrong with this picture? We are in Calgary not Montreal, where are all the Flames fans? Interesting atmosphere at Saddledome when there are pretty much more Montreal fans than Flames fans.

Dale Weise from Montreal Canadiens scored three goals against Calgary and there were lots of hats on the ice!

NHL Hockey season is right around the conner :) This past week I photographed a couple of preseason games for USA TODAY Sports.

I spent my day photographing a golf tournament in Priddis, AB... I had to wake up at 5am and it was super cold, but I had a pretty good day :) Here are a few of my photographs.

Throughout the tournament I was taking team photographs that by the end of the tournament were printed and placed on wine bottles... worked out pretty good :)
