DAY 1: It have been awhile since I did a nice wildlife photography road trip.. so.. it was time to load up my Tesla and head North to Elk Island National Park for a few days.

How can so much fit in the car and in this small cabin? Traveling with family usually means my car will be fully packed :) For this trip we stayed in a nice little cabin, just minutes from Elk Island National Park.

Since this was supposed to be a wildlife photography trip, after unpacking, it was time to go find some buffalos to photograph :)

For dinner it was nice to stop by the lake and hang out.

Our little cabin didn't have any options for charging my car so it was very nice that parking by the lake had a free Tesla destination charger.

DAY 2: Our second day in the park was very similar to the fist.. driving around looking for animals, doing a bit of hiking. It was great to see buffalo so close and just roaming free.

Tracy ordered a very nice platter for us so it was great to have it while we watched sunset by the lake.

DAY 3: As soon as we pulled out of our campsite we came across this brown bear, just meters from where we were staying.

Short breakfast stop by the lake and we are on our way home.

Don't worry everyone, I still do have my Tesla Model 3 and loving it! Unfortunately, this year it is in repairs after a deer hit me... I should have my car back soon. This weekend we celebrated Oliver's 9th birthday! We had a small outdoor party in Fish Creek Park for Oliver and some of his close friends, and of course, I took a few photographs... here are a few of my favourites :)

This year we decided to do an outdoor survival and wilderness theme for Oliver's birthday party. We had an instructor come from Kaykima Wilderness to teach the kids... Can't recommend them enough, Rob was so good with the kids! First, kids learned how to build a shelter using natural materials found in the area in an emergency survival situation.

Oliver had so much fun exploring in the forest and collecting some sticks! :)

I was sceptical at first, about what these little kids can do, but their shelter turned out great!

Kids also learned how to start a fire.

With newly learned skills of the fire making, Oliver was able to start a fire pit for the party :)

Oliver is doing Duck Hatching Experience ... today we took them out in our backyard to play with and I took a few photos :)

Yesterday I did a day photo trip to Waterton Lakes National Park. The plan was to try to find some wildlife to take photographs of, unfortunately I didn't have as much time in the park as I thought I would, since I miscalculated how long it will actually take me to get there. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day :)

Since I'm not really a wildlife photographer... wildlife photography is not really about photos for me, its about the experiences you get doing it. Taking a little break with my thermos, having some tea and enjoying a moment :)

Waterton Lakes National Park got some fresh snow overnight. Here is a photo of what my car looked like as I got here :)

Didn't find many animals this time, but I had a wonderful time watching these deer for awhile. So nice and peaceful!
